Leonard V. “Len” Helding, Jr., 58, of Decatur, IL, died Monday, October 23, 2006, at his residence.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 26, 2006, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 5 to 7 P.M., Wednesday, October 25, at the funeral home. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery, Decatur, IL. 

Memorials may be made to Helding Children’s Education Fund.

Leonard was born February 5, 1948, in Evanston, IL, the son of Leonard Vernon and Dorothy (Wheiner) Helding, Sr. He married Rebecca “Becky” Ruth French on December 24, 1983, in Indianapolis, IN.

Mr. Helding was a member of First Christian Church. Len graduated from Albion College in Michigan. He worked as a Computer Assistance for the Decatur Public School District #61; was active in the Boy Scouts of America Troop #43, and Vigil Member of Order of Arrow. Len was a Bingo caller for Eisenhower Elite Energy at Majestic. He was a former photographer instructor at Richland Community College, photographer for GSI group, and owner/manager of Decatur Dark Room Company.

Len is survived by his wife of 22 years, Becky of Decatur, IL; son Leonard “Lee” Helding III, daughters Hilary Helding and Christina “Tina” Helding, all of Decatur, IL. He will forever be in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
